Imre Madách, the pride of Hungarian literature, lived in the embrace of two women who defined his life and works, Anna Majtényi and Erzsébet Fráter. While the worlds of the mother-in-law and the daughter-in-law clashed in every aspect, the gentle writer, living for his creations, was worn down. Their battles are fought for exclusive possession of the writer's love.

Both women want to stand before the Lord with a clear conscience, they take stock of their lives so far, seeking peace. Our presentation reveals the defining events of their lives, the driving forces behind their actions, their innermost thoughts, and feelings, evoking the already deceased Imre Madách.

The eternal, almost everyday theme: the contrast and hostility between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, and the helpless pain of the man who loves them both. This is how Imre Madách lived and created "The Tragedy of Man".
